Title: Project Engineer – New Construction Department Company Overview: Drydocks World – SE Asia was formed at the end of March 2008 and brings together the various business operations acquired by Drydocks World, principally shipyard in Singapore and Batam Island Indonesia which is 20km south of Singapore. Current activities are centred on 4 shipyards engaged in ship and rig building, conversion and repaired supported by 29 building berths, 8 floating docks up to Panamax size and several km of repair quays. The operations which collectively employ a workforce of up to 15,000 people are strategically located at the centre of some of the busiest seaways in the world and close to rapidly expanding offshore oil and gas developments. Job Description: Responsible and accountable to ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants and that the requirements of the Contract are being satisfied. The Project Engineer is expected to have sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details on developing technical problems in various disciplines; in order to initiate appropriate corrective actions. While on a project, the Project Engineer reports to the Project Manager, who has ultimate responsibility for both the quality of Company’s deliverable and effective execution of the project assignments. On a large project the Project Manager may delegate certain project management responsibilities to the Project Engineer, including day-to-day interaction with the Client’s designated representative as well as coordination of all internal activities performed by the Company’s staff. However, the designated Project Manager retains overall accountability for relationship management and Client satisfaction on the project. Typical Duties: Plan, organize and perform complete project management from the fabrication stage to delivery of the vessels; Perform coordination and checking of engineering deliverables; Maintain monthly project status reports and change orders. Primary Responsibilities: Provide milestone event scheduling for the projects under responsibility; Communicate with regulatory bodies, outside engineering firms, assigned project Clients, subcontractors and the production team for the project; Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals; Check drawings, specifications, calculations, and other information or documents generated by other co-workers; Participating in Client/contractor meetings and resolving Client/engineering and management project issues; Train and supervise junior engineers, designers, and drafters. Requirements: Fresh Graduate with degree or diploma in Marine Engineering / Mechanical or equivalent. Highly self motivated, independent, hardworking and good analytical skill.
